Diploma in Safety Management

Saiosh has been inundated by members and the public, asking if Saiosh is aware that UNISA will not offer the Safety Management Diploma in 2020. Saiosh wrote to Dr Eric Nenzhelele from the Department of Operations Management UNISA and received the following response:

Response from UNISA

"The National Diploma in safety Management is being phased out due to it being non-aligned. DHET has made a ruling that all non-aligned qualification can only take new students until end of 2019. Students who are already registered for the National Diploma in Safety Management have until 2025 to complete the qualification. We are awaiting the SAQA ID of the Diploma in Safety Management and we will possibly start offering it second semester of 2020."
