OHS Amendment Bill 2018 and New Regulations

Saiosh live streamed the opening session of the 2018 Saiosh International Health and Safety Conference from the Gallagher Convention Centre on 22 May 2018. More than 250 delegates attended the Conference.

The opening session included a presentation by the Chief Inspector of the Department of Labour, Mr Tibor Szana, on the OHS Amendment Bill 2018 and New Regulations. There are some key changes including more emphasis on health and hygiene, workplace specific risk assessments, health and safety management system, employees' right to leave a dangerous workplace, increased penalties and more.
