RENEWAL OF RECOGNITION OF THE SOUTH AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (SAIOSH) AS A PROFESSIONAL BODY AND REGISTRATION OF ITS PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS ON THE NATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK (NQF)

In terms of Section 23 of the Policy and Criteria for Recognising a Professional Body and Registering a Professional Designation for the purpose of the National Qualifications Framework Act, Act 67 of 2008"A body that meets the criteria for recognition as a professional body by SAQA is recognized for an initial period of five (5) years, renewable for subsequent five year (5) periods, subject to the favourable outcome of a monitoring and evaluation process conducted by SAQA".

The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) has confirmed that the Executive Committee of SAQA renewed the recognition of the South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh) as a professional body and registered the following professional designations on the National Quliifications Framework {NQF):

• Technical Member(TechSaiosh)
• Graduate Member(GradSaiosh)
• Chartered Member (CMSaiosh)
  

The renewal of the recognition period is until 6 February 2023. The Saiosh professional designations and descriptors are listed on the SAQA website at www.saqa.org.za
