CONFIRMATION LETTER OF APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION IN THE CONSTRUCTION HEALTH AND SAFETY DISCIPLINE
On the 7th of August 2015 a category of the exemptions granted by the Department of Labour relating to Construction Work Permits in terms of the Construction Regulations 2014 expires. This is NOT the closing date for CHS applications or registrations with the Council.
The Council currently has a backlog in the processing of applications across all CHS categories. The backlog is due to the unusually high volume of applications received by Council since the beginning of 2015. The Council is doing everything within its means and available resources to process and finalise these applications.
The Council intends issuing a confirmation letter to applicants for registration in the Construction Health & Safety disciplines. The letter is a confirmation that the Council has received an application, together with the required documentation, from the applicant for the Council to consider their application for registration. The confirmation letter shall not be issued to applicants who fall into one or more of the following categories:
- Incomplete documents submitted with their application;
- Outstanding application fees; and
- The application does not comply with the requirements of Council for registration.
An applicant shall receive an email or a SMS notifying them that a copy of the confirmation letter is available for download on their online profile with the Council. Applicants are required to ensure that their personal details are up-to-date on their online profile.
THE CONFIRMATION LETTER REFERRED TO IN THIS NOTICE WILL BE ISSUED TO APPLICANTS DURING AUGUST 2015 ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:
07 August 2015
14 August 2015
21 August 2015

IT WILL THEREAFTER BE ISSUED AS AND WHEN AN APPLICATION IS RECEIVED BY THE COUNCIL.
